Catchy, seducing, mysterious...I first heard this track while watching City of Ghosts. Now I learn its true historical context, tragedy, etc. makes this song that much more important. Thanks for posting this timeless masterpiece.

Mr. Hun Sen and his Corrupted Government need to listen to these classic songs and need to rebuild Cambodian Language and Culture. Too many yuons in Cambodia now. If he can't make Cambodian population grow up...he should come visit California, USA. And stay in the state and report to US Gov't. that he needs to stay because he can't improve the growth of the population of Cambodian because of yuons are behind him. And let USA and another group of Khmer Freedom Fighters to Liberate Cambodia.

@CowardsBendTheKnee YES, I agree, this is absolutely brilliant rock and roll and her voice is spine-tingling. I nevee tire of listening to this song. Thanks to Magical Jeff for an exceptionally cute and lovely film clip. Shake it, shake it baby!!!!!!
thirty years on and Ros Sereysothea gets rave reviews on the BBC.. world renown is the last thing to cross her mind when she sang that song in 1972. This track brings back childhood memories of Phnom Penh under curfew rocked by the sound of aerial bombings, 122mm rockets, student uprising that year and the smell of street food. were you there at the time Jeff?

No, I was not even born yet, and when I was born it was on the other side of the world. Because of this, I really appreciate the small glimpse of your experiences during those years that you have shared with us.
