THANK YOU,,,the f9 function did not display what you showed I have a newer model. It asked what operating system to use {windows 7 was only option). it then paused for few minutes I almost shut it off and gave up. It then asked for a language, then prompt for a factory restore. I have tried using the DVD restore creator on this computer using external DVD, it would write first DVD then half way through second it would give an error message. 10 DVD's latter I gave up. THANK YOU FOR YOUR POST

my lap top doesn't have a disc drive and the f9 doesn't work what can i do?

@SeonhwaDaDiscPriest
F9 does not work? Strange. Don't keep pressing the F9 but pressing it 3 or 4 times in one second. If still does not work, you need to borrow an DVD drive for the restore. Or check on the net is there any USB recover for your EeePC.
