Playing latest Top Gear Episode AVI file on U810, Vista Home Premium.

If it looks any bit choppy/slow to you, that's due to the YouTube video processing. It runs flawlessly on the U810 itself.

Things to note:
-Running on VLC 0.8.6c
-Full screen & forward skip shown as well.
-Running on Power Saver battery mode, which throttles the CPU down to 50%

  • Was that the 350 MB file or the 700 MB file?

Either way, good choice! It's when there's a lot of movement in the image that slower computers will choke. And this one apparently didn't even so much as stutter.

    Thanks for the demo!

  • That was the 700mb version.

The only video playback issues I've had is when trying to play 720p HD video; specifically Diggnation HD Video Podcast. The U810 can process the file, but there is frame rate loss. The audio portion of the HD video plays fine too.

  • 997 GT3!

  • I have an old 2.4 GHz P4 that would do the same thing with h.264 encoded 720p files.

The U810's inability to properly play back HD content is no big deal especially on a screen that small with a resolution well below standard HD resolutions. Also, a single HD file could potentially fill up the tiny hard drive!

    Thanks again!

  • Nice!

  • Impressive for a small machine

  • again. THX for you help. I've just purchase one of this tiny thing online.^_^
