  • You should be _really_ careful with copper oxides as the oxidizer for a thermite reaction.

    Its not so bad with magnesium, because of the low boiling point of the latter (slows down the reaction considerably).

    But with Aluminium, it is prone to detonation (as little as 1 gram can create a report, when ignited unconfined).
