Jewish Convert to Islam, Part 1

This is a blog I put together about how I came to Islam. InshaAllah it benefits everyone out there!

I just want to make a quick correction. I mispoke. When I was younger, I was a TA at the synagogue's religious school, not university. Slip of the tongue, forgive me.

I am politely asking that Muslims take a stand and please condemn the persecution of Christians around the world. Let's just put aside other grievances and speak out against intolerance. Is not being a Muslim all about showing tolerance towards other faiths? What better way than to speak out against persecution of Christians in Islamic countries. This is an invitation to help make a difference in the world.

@Ryanyarb24 Hey Ryan, persecuting people in Muslim lands is generally frowned upon. It seems to be more prevalent due to lack of understanding of the Qur'an or because of political tactics. I've spoken up in the past, as have many Muslims. There's actually an Egyptian movie, Hassan wa Marqos, that could be an excellent example.

Before science, there was religion, a dark age of religion which left a HUGE period of time wasted by man, over 2000 years.

If we would have been smarter by breaking down the wall of religion and using that wasted time to progress in scientific research, we could probably be exploring new galaxies by now.

@ProbablyCoolerThanU We had to progress somehow and at the right pace. Look at the disadvantages to progressing at our current speed (not everyone progressing at the same time, culture shock between generations, etc.) There was some neuro research a while back that stated human brains worked in basically one of two ways, one that emitted specific hormonal cocktails in response to religion and one that didn't. Mine works the former way, yours the latter. :)
