@MrHalfamazing6 I personally know, have taped & photographed several groups who called themselves "The Whatevers" & that means nothing. I shot an event when a group was being honored, they performed & the fact that they called themselves by the name of the group they were impersonating doesn't change the fact that that group had not ONE member who was EVER a part of the group.

@MrHalfamazing6 In other words a money can call itself a lion but the fact that he does doesn't necessarily make it so. Now here's the litmus test...did that group have either Poindexter Brother involved with them? Was Jackie Members a member? Was Douglas "Smokey" Scott, Tommy Hill or Willie Holland have anything to do with that group? If none whom I named were involved, then you weren't watching "The Persuaders". The fat that some promoter at Sweetwaters hired them means nothing.

@MrHalfamazing6 I'm sure that if you've followed music that you know this kind of nonsense happens quite frequently. A guy once went on a national tv show calling himself Buckwheat of The Little Rascals & Buckwheat had been dead for more than 10 years. I'm not trying to be funny but as I write this, somewhere in the world, someone is running around impersonating someone, working using someone else's name & in most cases, are absolutely horrible & ruin the names of folks who don't even know it.

@MrHalfamazing6 And as I look back at hat I said, you didn't address my point. I never said that NO Persuaders" performed anywhere. I address the fact that the guys whom you're speaking of COULDN'T have paved the way for ANYONE in 1986, as the ORIGINAL Persuaders formed in 1969. Again, none of the names you've mentioned have appeared in ANY official bio written on The Persuaders, nor in that of the men & woman who wrote & produced them. THAT speaks for itself.

@shake201030 That fact is quite telling & speaks for itself. But just one correction...no group named The Persuaders formed in 1986 could've paved the way for anyone, especially when "Thin Line" was a hit in 1971, 15 years before the group that you're speaking of. Actually, The Persuaders have their roots in a group named The International who in 1969 had a very popular song in the N.Y. area named "Give A Damn". The lead singer Douglas "Smokey" Scott became the lead singer of The Persuaders.
