The CBC's Terry Milewski discovers the Canadian government's crime policies - including the building of more prisons - are getting poor marks in Texas.

This video is a great illustration of what needs to be happening in Canada. Not going backwards. Not increasing crime rates by throwing people into institutions where they will be traumatized by the horrific things they witness and locked down for weeks even months at a time in a 2 by 5 cell (much of the time in max and medium jails) and unable to leave and eventually thrown back into society when their sentence is finished to "function" after no rehabilitation or help. Great idea Mr. Harper!

What happened was Texas got JACKED by the private prison system and unthinking knee-jerk conservative policies. Every serious criminologist et al knew that it was a terrible system and that the new programs radically reduce incarceration and recidivism.

The red blood conservatives think that Stephen Harper's plan is wrong.
Those people are THE TOUGHEST ON CRIME in the entire country.
