Just saw Levon Helm & company for a Midnight Ramble session this past weekend. They played this song like this and it was awesome. Almost like this version of the song better then the original from the Band.

What a salute to the days of Easy Rider, Big Pink,
big promises, etc. (1968) our youth indeed.
Big Helm behind the drums in the Last Waltz. It strikes me how US bands so often pay respect to their " ancestors", in invirting them etc. Not so here in Europe, they only remember abba here....

Why do they let this tubist play a solo? He can´t play for shit. Others are wonderful, though.

The brass didn't make the grade, but Levon plays a storm, Chris sounds great, beautiful song. Great vibe to this video, thanks for sharing.
