I recently found this dusty VHS tape of a test I did for an Engine Oil Additive company. In the early 90's, I tested this friction reducing additive. The product was actually pretty good but the company is not around any more.
I had to edit it this way because some scenes showed/named the place that allowed me to perform the test & donated the car. We ran the product in the engine for a 1/2 hour, then drained it & ran it without oil. We actually placed bets on how long it would run.... times ran from 10 to 51 min. The engine ran the full 51min at about 1000-1500 rpm. Since the the last time on the betting chart was met, we then revved the P*** out of it till it went up in smoke. 56 min of total run time & the last 5 were at high revs. She put up one hell of a fight!!!
**** obviously DO NOT run any engine for any amount of time with out oil ****

  • @vivitar45 ...weren't those the ones that took a "lickn" & kept on "tickn"...

  • Thats a cool vid! Always wanted to see an engine blow! :D Since then, a lot more stuff came out that is making it possible for the engine to run without for days, and the most amazing test I know is of a car driving 510km without oil.

  • @suprotecpower ...thanks we had fun.

  • @TheMeisterize Depends which manufacturer you buy

  • That's nothing. My Ford Mustang doesn't need oil - it runs on constant 600 bar pressure, with Liquid Nitrogen and Hydrogen Peroxide used as a cooling mechanism.

    We took the stupid mincy little engine out, did some welding... and put in a Rolls Royce Merlin XX engine in - 1,480bhp!

    Had to weigh the back down with extra fuel tanks. The exhaust gas is so hot that it melts tarmac if we leave it stationary for too long.

  • @mschiffel1 Looks like an 81 Honda Civic, 1500DX.

  • Gee nice watch, is that a Rolex? Lmao

  • @Gasser4x4 errrrrr this was recorded in the early 90's

  • what kind of car/engine was it ???.....whatever it was it's one tough engine !!!

  • Will people stop recording with calculators??

  • Years ago we used to have a product called SLICK50, also known as Snake Oil. It coated everything with PTFE and did nothing for performance or to protect engines. It blocked channels that oil run through and also blocked hydraulic tappets. It's like fuel additives today - they are nothing but Kerosene sold under various brand names. It also does nothing for the engine. The best thing to do is regular maintenance. Always check the oil level before setting off on a long journey;

  • this is why i do my own car stuff O_o
