i wish there was a way it did not look like we were using a filtered browser - it's kind of embarrassing. rename it something less obvious to those who may borrow our phone to look something up. also, there are many programs that work as browsers...the idea is to just never install those? that doesn't seem to work

You can restrict down the installing of other browsers with the built-in parental controls on the iPhone.

thats odd. the purpose of the software is for accountability. if you get embarrassed for that you should probably recheck why youre being accountable.

Two questions:
1// Can you still use Safari? If yes, is Safari filtered?
2// If not, are there any drawbacks to the browser, such as inability to view/download attachments, etc.?

You don't use Safari, our browser replaces Safari and you disable Safari with the built-in parental controls on the iPhone. It shouldn't interfere with you ability to download or view attachments.
