Totally agree with you as more and more analogue TV stations close down due to DVB-T'isation here in Western Europe.
Fortunately, Russia won't close its analogue TV transmissions on VHF-I because of it's wide landscape (can be hardly covered by DVB-T).
So let's look forward for nice sporadic-e from Russia on VHF-I in 2035 ! :-)
