Yes, this game does indeed have a story, It is the final installment in the Ash saga, it's XII that doesn't have one.

@Tokamaru97 KOF was one of the biggest franchises back when the fighting game craze of the 90es was going on and helped define the genre as a whole (not on the level that SF2 did but still). 2003 wasn't the KOF that was the first to get good, it was the KOF that finally started getting good again.

I play both games and both of them (SF and KoF) are awesome and since when was the KoF series a fail? as one of the guys said Just like how sega failed in america doesnt mean its a failure same to KoF it was bad franchised in america but else where trust me the game owns SF anytime anyday and when you want to say something about failure and such please show us your proof you're either a SF fanboy or just someone whos looking for internet trolling

i never was a sf hater, in fact i like the alpha series and SF3 series. But to my opinion, I always found KOF to be a better game, personally. To each their own opinion, but I will be done with my SSF4 once this is out.

Really. It is probably because Street Fighter is starting to get old. I like Street Fighter and grew up playing it, but after all of the Street Fighter 4 re-releases I am getting tired of it. KOF 13 looks more stylish and fast paced. Plus playing against Shotoken characters online 90 percent of the time just bores the hell out of me.

i only play 98 =,=  , i tried others for like few hours too. but i still love 98 the most.

most areas keep 97 machines and new 2000+ ones...

me too. SF4 is great and KOF XIII is great too. so i'm neither a sf or kof fanboy.
