  • I live about a mile from John Coltrane's house in Dix Hills where this song was written. Every time I pass the house I can picture him inside working. The room this was composed in is visible from the street. There is an inspiring energy that omits from that house still today for me realizing the great work that came out of there. Thank you for posting this.

  • You're welcome : )

  • I was about 4 maybe 5 when this came out. My Dad who recently passed introduced Coltrane to me. I'm listening in honor and remembrance of him. Thanks Dad.

  • Your comment brought a smile to my face : ) Cheers.

  • You wouldn't happend to have JC playing the cover of "I'm Old Fashioned"?

  • Yes.... Just uploaded it for you today... Enjoy! : )

  • This is my favorite praising song, it's authentic, raging, openhearted and trascendental for everyone who loves jazz and that also want to have an experience with God. Thanks for this jewel :)

  • the two first jazz albums i ever wore out playing over and over on my hi-fi record player were John Coltrane's "My Favortie Things" and "A Love Supreme". I couldn't get over Coltane's natural, uncontrollable powerful untamed tenor solo sounded ... like an impressionist, or abstract expressionist painter spewing complex rhythms and vignettes of ancient melodies and concepts into the world of modern jazz, complex and rich. And McCoy Tyner's solo is no less incredible.

  • @srswiggins perhaps the most beautiful saxophone music ever written

  • tranes acknowledgement to god and spirituality is his masterpiece

  • I'm a child of the 80s and 90s and grew up on tapes and CDs but I think most music sounds better analog from an album over magnetic tapes or digital CDs. It's kind of like part of the sound is lost once it goes digital.

  • I love the beginning of this song. Sounds like the opening of a window on the first day clear day of spring and everything is coming alive.
