While much of the news about the global financial crisis has focused on failed Wall Street banks, migrant workers and their families around the world are starting to feel the pain of slower economic growth. Pros Laput traces how the crisis affects Filipino immigrants overseas and their families back home. He visited New York, Hong Kong and the Philippines and compiled this report narrated by Kate Pound Dawson.

  • The Lord bless us.

  • People, STOP BREEDING!

  • global financial crisis has not yet reach the Philippines? I find it questionable because because as a Filipino we have to depend on relatives working overseas such as Hong Kong, China, Taiwan USA, Singapore, and Japan for our funding

  • As of now, the global financial crisis has not yet reach the Philippines but as soon as reality sinks in due to the massive layoffs around the globe. Filipinos would start to feel the effect of this catastrophe. Most Filipinos nowadays are not interested in farming and western influence have forced the youth to live like their hollywood idols. They lost their survival instinct and became dependent to remittances coming from relatives or family members working abroad.
