it should run very well on a mid-range computer. Around 200 frames per second on my PC. so it is quite real-time :).

I'm looking to make a 3d game for my little sister (she doesn't believe it's possible :D)

I really want to stay away from the HL source engine, and I might check this one out if it's cheap/free.
