Yeah, I agree with masterblaster273, and I don't think the title "The Boyz of Point Du Hoc" is very correct, it should be more like The Men of Point du Hoc or something like that because this makes it sound like some gangster video, like Boyz in the Hood.
I appreciate the video, but somehow to me anyway the video game no matter it's title is a game, this was very real. The rangers who scaled those cliffs were very real, kids take those games seriously they are not. Men who have never had the honor to serve are armchair commandos, the men who followed Col Rudder that morning were flesh and blood. We should always salute the greatest generation for the sacrafices they made for us. Rangers lead the way, airborne!
i visited normandy in march this year. point du hoc was my favourite place ....all the rangers that did this mission are true hero's.......god bless you all......
People hate Americans because there is only room at the top for 1. If they hate us and they happen to be people that were saved by us, then, they need therapy. I don't give a damn what the lesser thinks of the greater. That's why they are lower than me. Because they choose to be. They are jealous of their relatives that fled the homeland for Ellis Island 100 years ago, like my grandfather did. I am glad that he left Sweden in order for me to be an AMERICAN! Let Freedom ring!!!
quite funny, but the day was far more serious. I have just returned and before going took a copy of Ronnie Reagans speech at point du hoc which I played at the site. Awesome. At least watch Ronnies speech - the full 9 min version
We can never repay the sacrifices of those who left their landing crafts, pushed through the shallow waters, ran up onto the beach and began to climb those sheer cliffs. THey'd heard of the massive German arms awaiting them on the beachhead and they heard the crackling of heavy arms as it blazed their way. Yet they climbed those sheer cliffs. Those men, some barely past their teens, grabbed that rope and they climbed up.
@SullivanSkater you seriously got that from the title? wow
