why don't you just drill a bigger hole on the existing so the head could fit through instead of soldering

Have to say i am not impressed with this product not only does it have a massive design flaw on the rear aux port the input sensitivity is appauling requiring most mp3/ipods etc to run at full volume and still not getting proper drive, This unit also lacks any Bass/Treble Control.. Sound quality is fairley poor, Responce curve is very bottom end heavy and lacks clarity

Great Radio - design could be better. I also do not like the AC cord that hangs out the front of the radio instead of the back. Do you have a hack for that too :-)

Not all Makita batteries are that shape. They have already redesigned the batts to the issue. No need to hack it.
