123int Howler Monkeys

This is dawn in Wina Central, Bosawas Biosfera, northern Nicaragua. The Howler monkeys were very vocal that morning. It was really kind of eerie hearing them so clearly and not being able to see them. We have had them come towards us in the trees in a threatening way as if to tell us to get away. They are called Congo monkeys there. They are the loudest land animal and can be heard up to 3 miles away. We were there to bring general medical care and deworm meds to people who live in a very remote area. We can only reach them on mules or by walking many, many hours.
