The costume design in this scene is a bit too much like the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland for my taste (it's like she's going to scream out "Off with her head!" any moment), but Popp's singing is so phenomenal that it's a moot point.

@6l1v91 Lucia Popp. An incredibly fine singer - musician with one of those divine voices. Deceased. Many fine recordings, Mozart opera, lots of other repertore.

This is actually part of a full length DVD of the complete Carmena Burana. Very well done, I DL it from avaxhome, there is a 800MB and a 5GB version there. Really nice!

Received this LP almost 45 years ago, and it's still my favorite recording of Carmina Burana. And, without a doubt, this is still the best performance of a beautiful piece of music Bravissima!
