For the first time STEPHEN KING talks about his writing and his brilliant new novel, DUMA KEY, published on Thursday 24 January.

Duma Key is an eerily remote, stunningly beautiful strip of land off Florida's West Coast, owned by an old lady named Elizabeth Eastlake.

This is where Edgar Freemantle comes to start a new life after a freak accident tears off his arm, and severs his marriage. And where he discovers a unique talent for painting.

But soon his pictures become strangely predictive ... even dangerous.

With the help of his new friend Wireman, Freemantle begins to realise that what is happening to him is connected to the haunted coast of Duma Key and the mystery of Elizabeth Eastlake's lost sisters. But once stirred, the island's secrets have no intention of going back to sleep.

The story is about friendship, about the bond between a father and his daughter. And about memory, truth and art. It is one of the most compellingly powerful and richly rewarding of Stephen King's bestselling novels.

  • me too!

  • oh well

  • yea it has alot of cursing but tis v good ! im only on page 100!

  • i like this book, alot of cussing though. but i like it :]]

  • i cant help but hear at 59 seconds stephen king making a funny tiny little "ehhh" directly after he says "the characters who spoke to me". it might not even be him saying it but i like to think so.

  • I love SK!!! :o)

  • I'm from Germany too, and it always annoys me that so many film/book titles are changed into something completely different... WHY??? *sigh*

  • I thought it was really good. It starts off kinda slow I think, but finishes strong. Parts of it are pretty sad too, like what happens with ilse. But its a really good read, and I cant wait for the movie.

  • is anyone knows when they'll publish Duma Key in french.

  • Stephen King on short horror films - his favorite are the FEWDIO shorts.
