  • @wolfie571 not only that, but he left his field artillery behind because it slowed him up. I believe he also had at least one Gatling gun, but left it behind. Also, the 7th troopers were equipped with single-shot carbines and the Indian opponents had the much quicker reloading Winchester lever-actions. All of this combined with the size of the Indian force (underestimated - COMMUNICATION gone BAD), meant Custer was waaay behind before the 1st shot was fired. Great leader..not on this day.

  • @wolfie571 He followed basic tactics when attacking indian encampment, which was to have a small force act as a diversion, then attack with the main force. The camp would be in chaos. Custer sent a note to Benteen to reinforce him and Benteen cowardly never did anything. Even modern military personnel agreed Custer did what they would have given the same situation.

  • The US government has finally allowed a monument to the true heros of the great victory on the Greasy Grass, the Lakota , Cheyenne and Arapaho warriors,

  • Custer died from being outnumbered 10 to 1; not having brought along the Gattling guns. Puzzling that neither he, nor any of his men, were taken as hostages for negotiating native american rights; killing all of the 7th Cav only hastened the public outcry for revenge.

  • Thanks fer posting this excellent video. I don't mind saying that it stirred up many emotions and feelings fer me. It is a humbling experience that we can draw so close to such a important and poignant point, in the 7th cavalry wild west period of US history.
