  • Palmer and Wallace were TWO different pianists but both played in ST LOUIS

  • @Bumblebee38 maybe you're right. But their styles are quite similar. To my ears - I wasn't there - Palmer does not accompany himself.

    Sylvester Palmer was a PIANIST who tracelled from St Louis to Chicago with Henry Townsend tfor the purpose of making thoses records .He died soon after the session

  • @Bumblebee38 I never said he wasn't a pianist, but was he the pianist on this record? Compare it to 'Fanny Lee Blues', for instance.

  • After carefully comparing all of the known recordings I have come to the conclusion that Wesley Wallace and Sylvester Palmer were the same person.

  • i dont know all the ins and outs - but i know i've loved this track ever since i first heard it on vol 2 of paul oliver's story of the blues lp ....
