"The Aerodyne Strat Test" - Doug Kinnear

On June 3, 2007, I was shown a Fender "Aerodyne Strat" guitar at Moonlight Music in Encinitas, CA and it was love at first sight. Recently reconnecting with old college band buddies rekindled a passion for playing electric guitar that inspired the trip to the music store. This video is the reunion of a favorite old hobby with a beautiful new guitar.

Thanks for watching. This Aerodyne Strat was built for the Japanese market so the neck is slim. I checked out your channel vid and that Peavey amp is pretty darn rocking and that camera really sharp. Nice.

Wow, that's such a coindence...I bought a used Aerodyne Strat in Black 2 mths ago after 9 yrs without any guitars- electric or otherwise. Luv the sound and feel of mine :)

If i had that guitar i'd switch the pickgaurd to a black one.

That would look excellent too. As it happened I replaced the white guard with a cream pearl pick guard that bumped up things quite a bit. Check out my August Porch Jam to see how that looks. Thanks for listening.

i have a red Aerodyne strat exactly the same as that in the video, the neck pick up sounds very nice. also the treble (bridge) pick up is very good

Hi Doug, really enjoy your videos and your playing. I had a question about the neck on your guitar; is it more of a 50's fat neck or more of a 60's slim neck?

im a bigger fan of the black aerodyne, but i think if i were to get my hands on one, id drop in a loaded pickguard with humbuckers or a dimarzio fast track pickguard for some higher output
