@Seacrhing2008 And this is precisely why I enjoy following your work. And I really like your CNC Machine--very well done.

Looks real fun :) Just had a thought why not gear down the pneumatic power by 10 or so with some gears or chain/belt that will get the precision same ratio better.

While this is a good experiment in pneumatics, I would have cannibalized an old ink-jet machine for more precise movements. It will be interesting to see where you take this project.

Could of just used one of my CNC machines, but been there and built CNC machines, taken apart old plotters amd printers in the past.
Like you say, this is more about experimenting with pneumatics and seeing their limitations. Without spending a fortune !

Looks like you need a little half open air valve command in program, to brake the piston when getting close to the ends ? Nice work.

Micro switches now attached and ramping moves that slow it down being added as it gets feedback on it's position from the Caliper.

I like it, i think you would need to add some king of position detection, to be able to correct your position if the air moved the head to fast or slow , because you need precision and be 5mm offset could result pretty bad at the end:)

Yep the Caliper is working well for showing the position and today I fitted some stop switches either end.
Spent most of the day tweaking the code and it is working well. Still fair bit of work to go yet though.
