The rub worked great. I use a tablespoon of merlot wine with 1/8 cup of Olive oil, then the rub. Try that. Wine breaks down the beef, acts as a natural tenderizer. Old trick from a local steak house from St. Paul. Mancinii's.

we tried this rub and looooved it!!!! its used for lots of things now, but i have to say it was too peppery so we've cut back on that

I bet it would go better on the grill. I bet if you used a chuch steak and did the same thing over a grill and cooked it really slow it would be even better.

@burntonion05 See the final episode, I did do it on the grill although it works amazingly well in the pan. But what is a church steak?
