Uhh ruminants don't have more than one stomach. Rumens aren't stomachs....

@dramrtalaak1990 ahaha, rectum? i think you mean reticulum!

it is so nice

If I had a dollar for every pixel in this video I'd have 2 dollars.

ruminant animals are able to digest cellulose in the rumen with help from bacteria.. the cellulose is broken own into volatile fatty acids which are the animals main energy source.

nice video ...ruminants have a compound stomach unlike human and other carnivores . their stomach is formed from 4 compartments Rumen , Rectum , Omasum AND LAST COMPARTMENT which is similar to the simple stomach in human called Abomasum .

Spot on. The glucose polymers that we have are Alpha 1.4 linked but ruminants can digest cellulose which is beta 1.4 linked. With Ruminants its more like you feed the bacteria in the rumen which then feed the animal.

:D COOWS!
Thanks man! Hopefully, I can pass my finals

It actually does digest the bacteria.. .
The bacteria (and protozoa) produce fatty acids and protein..
Most of the nutrients come from within the microbes
sassyrainn223 knows nothing about biology. i am pretty sure however that the bacteria break down beta links within the cellulose walls of plants which allows the smaller molecules to be digested rather than the cow digesting bacteria.

combination of both actually, it enables the cow to break down both a little of the cellusose and the bacteria. sasssyrain does seem to be mentally retarded im afraid
