Do you think AMericans would hand over Hawaii which is such a strategic military base and revenue maker back to the Hawaiians? All countries today that gained their Independence have fought the oppressors. I do not see Tibet being anywhere strong enough to kick China out in the next 200 years. Good luck to those people. Tibet, not 200 years ago, not 10000 years ago, but NOW is under China and officially recognized by the UN council as part of China with borders stretching to Russia. Even they don't dare cross the border. So what now. Is this the spirit of the Tibetan people as you cal it? Us Chinese see you as Chinese, but if people feel strongly against it, then you have to fight for your freedom. None is earned without bloodshed.

Both were not for Han, both were for China. No matter how ancient the name, China has always been in turmoil and ruled by its 5 major tribes: Han, Manchurians, Mongolians, Tibetans, and Muslims. To the 1.9B Chinese out there, we are all the same because we all ruled each other, bred, and lived together for 000s of years.

to say that tibet was part of china during the qing dynasty is not wrong but the han chinese looked at the manchu rulers as foreign rulers themselves! when qing fallen, the han chinese where relieved and felt free! they waved flags with the symbol HAN on it to represent their independence from this foreign rule
