@Travhouse The new cars were not better in safety or mechanical ability......How ever They had PERSONALITY and I would love to have kept many of them that I owned and drove over the last forty years...Drive an old car and you will get thumbs up everywhere!!!

@Travhouse The materials were heavier duty, but the technology in manufacturing was lower. If we manufactured cars today to the specs of cars of yesterday, they very well might last a million miles each.

@Travhouse This is almost laughably untrue.Cars today are far more durable. In the 50s they all rusted out, needed valve jobs after 40,000 miles and were unsafe. Today's cars are much, much safer and reliable. I'm afraid nostalgia has fogged your memory.
