Broken Zelda Majora's Mask Cartridge

I have this cartridge that seems to have a burned flash chip.
This happened to me one day when i was playing and my Nintendo 64 Burned out. Apparently the cartridge got injured too...
When i start up the game, it never saves, i've like 68 Ocarinas, no sword or shield, whenever i create a file and try to copy it, it copies as all Zeros, and then disappears, anyway any files disappear if a shut down/reset the console or just press the B button to go back to title screen.

Guys, got my N64 out recently, ocarina of time worked fine, majoras mask had this bug: random deaths and loads of ocarinas, and no saves. Took the cartridge out, blew on the contacts really hard, opened the insertion slot and blew really hard into the N64. Game now no longer bugged, saved games are back, dont lose hope!

I've had the -exact- same thing happen to me a few days ago. What "cured" my cartridge was to clean its pins with an alcohol-based solution. All bugs gone and gamesaves restored since then. I'm suspecting dirty contacts are acting in a similar way as the infamous "cartridge tilt" cheat some have used to intentionnally create this bug. Since your 64 burned out, it's more than possible that the fumes created deposits on your cartridge's contacts that prevent it from working properly.

This happened once when my game was in weird... my saves were gone and all the ocarinas were there.... thankfully it went back to normal the next time I played, with my saves returned!
