this video on the xbox 360 is what made me want to play ffxi, i almost cried while watching it, it brought an emotional response, and when i did play the game, i had a friend that had been playing since beta, and he helped my out big time getting started, for anyone who is debating on geting this, im going to say, but i warn you, its sucks major monkey nuts at first, untill you get to lvl 20, it sucks, then it start to get fun with the parties, and getting your chocobo and all.

@Booo139 Booo, FFXI is also for PC and PS2. Though it's horribly limited because of the capabilities of the PS2 and how poorly the dev team programs things.

@24Juggalo ....What free servers? The ONE private server we had for FFXI got legalcanned by Square.

@EnderSquared 8. Amazing gameplay, and story but unles you know people who play and like to play with you it gets dull because of how big the world is. STAY AWAY from free servers, they make it so easy you get bored with or without friends.

It's playonline, you need a live account but it DOES NOT have to be gold. This is the one and only game that can be played online without a gold account.
