  • Just found this one on a list of 1000 soul songs. Man, what a song! Only 999 more to go.

  • I recall Gabriel Mekler being Nolan's producer on this and his other of 4 songs in the top 40 in '68 or '69 at the same time (besides Nolan's albums). Gabriel worked with Nolan after he developed Janis Joplin and Stepenwolf in the years prior to Nolan.

Gabriel left after a motorcycle accident took him. always wishing you the best bro.

  • Had this on a 45 as a lad of 14 back in the 80`s. Steve if your out there i want it back! Such a special tune »«

  • Signature tune of Lenny a legend on the Northern Scene and true “ wigan psycho “ ( no offence meant or implied, purely a nickname given to a group of lads from the north east who travelled to Wigan Casino when ever and however we could )

    RIP Lenny

PS. still can’t do those back of heal turns and slides like you could.

  • wow. 42, and just heard this for the first of thousands of times. Ain't life great? PHAT!!!

  • what a tune, song, fuck!!

  • I recorded the original version of this with Nolan in Hollywood, Ca. George Walker and Freddie king were the original guitarist. Nolan was a great guy to work with.

He is a very creative writer and singer.

  • Classic tune. Touch of class

  • So fucking Great!

  • Well I'm STILL in to fitness at 56, but no way I could have stayed awake in Mr M's all night, so gear got me through, but tunes like this helped as well, keep on, keeping on.
