We're not talking about interiors haha! And if torque was important, then you'd see a lot more diesel cars on the track. Why don't you? Because turbos slow down throttle response and they dont rev freely enough. Do you think F1 cars have lots of torque..? No, they rely on power to weight, throttle response and a low centre of gravity. And seriously, the gti handles like a bag of shit.

no, the primary disadvantage it its a FF, and further more, one that plows like a truck when pushed. yes the GTI is a rocket in a straight line, and due to its torque its fairly quick on a track, but it lacks the chassis balance of a type-R and its front driven nature ensures that without MASSIVE suspension tuning its always going to be a break, point squirt affair.

i dont mind GTIs, for something based on an econobox chassis they are great, but they are not the enthusiasts car a 86 can be.

@richie2nice i agree with u that the interior isnt too great but thats not its highlight nor is the raw power..the 86 is obviously heritage to the ae86 which was also underpowered however made up for its handling, chassis etc which made it extremely popular for touge and drifting in japan.

i have an opinion bro. they took a great car, made it slow and used cheap materials just to sell it for cheap? and dont offer an upscale version with more power? i have a right to bitch, becuase I was going to buy the car.
