WOW... What a bunch of cry babies on here. Why don't you guys get your lazy asses off the computer and do something about the Spill like the 10 year old boy who's trying to make a difference. As I'm writing here, I already have a blue print of a machine laid out that I'm going to make to save GoM. Not just that, I also have an alternative fuel vehicle that I'm going to make happen soon. Just wait and see. You'll all be driving my creation one day in the near future. SO BLAH BLAH!!!!!!!

EVERYtime i see the oil spill it makes me sick :(

@goog2k people like you make me sick. How can you not see the corruption right in front of your face. The president doesnt care about you and neither does any of his cabinet. three times he has went against public opinion. Even the liberal media is starting to ask questions besides what his favorite book is. OPEN YOUR EYES. Obama is not a leader, hes a puppet legislator willing to do whatever it takes to pass his far left agenda. peacee hippies

@r2dxhate This is in no way an ad hominem attack on B. Hussein Obama, no more than using his middle name. You use false logic and you argument is very week.
Politicians are not racist as a group. Money is not the problem. Democratic Policies are to blame for the economy and for the evironmental laws which force Oil companies to drill 5000 feet beneath the oceans for oil, a shallow water drill site would have been repaired long ago, and avoided the catastrophy we now see on our shores in the GoM

it's definitely an attack on the president. and politicians definitely are racist. they keep "slipping up" and saying really racist things. i feel like, if money wasn't so important, this planet's people and resources could have fixed the problem within a week. if money didn't guide every decision we make, we'd take the necessary time to do things the right way. As a people we're just rushing towards chaos for the sake of competition and preserving wealth.

no kidding.

@101unique : What a wonderfully solid and climactic excuse of you to say to the accusation of how 'Obama is not an pile of shit', and just simply state race as a main cause for all criticism. Genius!
wow

Obama's call to a new (green, renewable - whatever) energy future and energy security was not initiated with this speech... which is ~sort of~ implied.
In fact, it was one of his central themes in the Presidential campaign, has been a part of the global warming rhetoric, and has been often brought up in discussions of other issues, like war(s) in the middle east.
PBS doesn't have to jump on any bandwagon. But to leave the above implication "out there" is an error in fact.
