This is a short video about our house boat adventure that went wrong. We were there for a vacation my gramdad thought would be nice. At one of the stops near the O'brian inlet we stoped for the night. My children and their cousins (6 children under 13 yrs old) went swimming, ate dinner and fed some deer that walked right up onto the front of our boat. Amazing right? Well I mentioned our trip went wrong,... so here it is,... a bow hunter raced up next to us and jumped out of his boat to shoot the deer my children just fed!
All hunters out there that have ever gone into some ones camp to shoot deer raise your hands?
All hunters who bait and trap raise your hands?
We came unglued! I raced up the hillside barefoot to confront the idiot about to shoot arrows into our area only to find out this was an off duty ranger. Badge number 412. Zack Holmer? Palmer? If you know this guy, or ever seen him in Shasta Lake area threatening you with fines or tickets, notify the authorities right away.
Claiming to be a ranger is NOT a crime according to Shasta area sheriff. (feeding deer tomatoes is) Hunters feel free to use tourist's who feed the deer bait, as hunting a tool. Then just jump off your boat and shoot into the deer infront of young children. If you really love hunting, wouldn't you try to leave a good impression so as to promote hunting. Also these deer are so small I'd be embarassed to bring it home.
If you are a real ranger watching this video and you are from the Shasta Lake California area, Please tell me you DO NOT practice this type of hunting. I understand feeding your family as this guy states he does (look at the size of these guys) but honestly did you see the boat. That's nicer then anything I own. please feel free to comment and leave me your opinions and ideas on this.

  • if that douche was a ranger then he should have called his friends but he was no more a ranger than we were a threat.

  • Um.. deer season for this area with a bow is open for a brief period I believe from late august thru first week of Oct and is subject to change from year to year.. but from what i understand deer tags were limited and I do believe that year were issued on a lottery basis. in the least you are required to have your tags in your possession.. I seriously doubt that he had any tags at all.. me thinks he do be a poacher..

  • @evilandiknow and quite a lucky to be alive

  • It really doesnt matter what is legal or illegal. What matters is ethics and respect. Some people dont like hunting (i dont know why, its what i live for) but that doesnt mean that we should disrepect them by harvesting a deer right in front of there kids. Maybe all these people that hate hunters hate us because most hunters act like morons and dont take anything or anyone into consideration when going for the kill. Ethics and Respect

  • About time an ethical individual commented. I was starting to think the world was empty.

  • I'm a bowhunter and these guys on the boat with their so-called impersonating ranger -jackass one testicle associate is surely violating DFG of NO HUNTING where there is people nearby, accross water.....it's JACKASSESS of these sort that tarnishes the integrity of law abiding hunters in this state of ours.

  • what the fuck is a 'arow gun' i had situation were tree huging hippies tried to run us off the mountain while hunting in northern california, we immediately contacted fish and game and they were removed from the national forest area and fined 500$, so for those who like to impose feel free to do so but its going to cost you!

  • you broke the law by feeding the deer

  • This boat looks just like the one we saw during our house boat rental on lake Shasta. A holes shot a deer (awfully small) from thier moving boat right in front of us. Then later (we moved our boat) saw them again just after sunset using a spot light!

  • he is not a ranger my dad is a cop and claims to not know him and badge numbers ar 4 numbers oh yah we live by shasta lake

  • It's perfectly legal to hunt deer on the lake. You can even shoot from your boat as long as it is not under power. Also you should NEVER feed ANY wild animal no matter how cute or cool you think it is. It is illeagal to harrass hunters. When it comes down to it you should never take action yourself. If you feel someone is doing something illegal (in this case) write down the CF numbers on the side of the boat and call or find law enforcement and report it.

  • This is why my family only hunts squirrels and occasional bears but i prefer fishing.

  • I agree bad ethics but he might have been legal if he was on the B zone side of the lake and if it was in season. B zone still is not a lotto YET, but from the sounds of it he was more than likely on the C zone side of the lake and that is a draw hunt. City hunters hunt off easy kills.

  • were not the one with the arrow gun XD

  • i think all bay fags should stay out of this area... ha we need to have a bow season for them.
