Exhumation of a German soldier in Barjols, Operation Dragoon 1

The body of a German soldier is exhumed in southern France in 2010, after being accidentaly found in a forest. The grave was so shallow that many bones were missing, probably taken away by animals. However, the soldiers identification tag was found, as well as his wedding ring, a medal of St Christopher and some uniform buttons.
The exhumation was performed under the authority of the Volksbund (German War Graves Commission) and in presence of French gendarmes (Police). Following the exhumation, the body will be identified and buried in a German military cemetery.

Franzosen finden ein vermist Deutsch Soldaten in Süd Frankreich. Der Leichnam und die Erkennungsmarke hat man zu der Volksbund Deutsches Krieggräberfürsorge übergeben. Der Soldat wird identifiziert sein, und in ein Deutsche Soldatenfriedhof beerdigt.
