Conservatives are expressing outrage over Solyndra but the money involved in that 'scandal' is a tiny fraction of what the US spends on energy subsidies for oil, nuclear and coal. The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks down the numbers and gives some perspective.

  • I get so fucking angry when I see shit like this. The system is so fucking rotten. SO. FUCKING. ROTTEN.

  • @LeEternelleVie

It's a bit more complicated than that. The environment is a highly dynamic system. The unintended consequences are way too numerous. I'm not sure if I qualify as a republican, but I'm somewhat of a conservative myself.

Let's keep things into perspective though, 1 degree change in temperature is catastrophic in itself.

But to double the ppm of CO2 in the atmosphere, it would render us in Permian extinction levels, the most massive and destructive of all extinctions to date.

  • Great insight!!!!! I will be passing this on

  • None sense to remove renewal energy subsidies? It make perfect sense! Is the renewal energy companies big enough to bribe both parties? No! Green companies are weak, and no one wants to play with losers! Kill the green companies is the way to go. Call it kiss @ss, shining shoes, or whatever you want; somebody need to do this anyway. So, if you don't pay, you don't get services from the congressmen, period.

  • FUCK THE CONSTITUTION FUCK THE BILL OF RIGHTS There antiquated ,broken, abused, corruptible, America needs a political revolution to change the dimension and balance of power., May i suggest one that removes graft money ,Even converting to a Westminster system will do the trick.Americans are not failing america ,its the system screwed by screwer's,, e.g. Electoral super fund, BS Its nothing but a SLUSH FUND, just like the Mafia

  • lLOL ha ,Just wait to you see what the drug industry gets,,On average the american tax payer funds 75% of all new drugs.,yet Americans pay through the nose , Canadian drugs are cheap but in Australia there even 50% cheaper again,, Check out the Australian PBS , They dont let the drug company's get away with massive price gouging like in the US,, F#$%ing amazing,, GO LOOK

  • @willia3r If you are referring to my comment of America's death, then you just don't know what our nation once stood for. The experiment on freedom ended, and big govt took over.

  • @HyrulianWarlord Well stuffing oil&nuclear with subsidies isn´t cheap?

Building keystone and "developing" Tar sands aka turning Alberta into a chemical wasteland is further wasting oportunities and ressources and only servers to prolong the status quo.

Watch out for the actions of the Audio Terrorist Front!

  • @ecwaufisxtreme Hail Palin!

    Praise her benippled splendor!

  • @RegioLunar ok.... so where are they? we have no reactors, we only just recently got more energy from a hydrogen Isotope pellet than we put in, but thats only the amount of energy the giant laser put into the pellet, not the amount of energy needed to operate the laser, which is far far far greater that the energy that pellet produces. Creating a small is star is harder than you think

  • @shittyfagg

Hehe, yea the neocon republicans are, a recent invention and quite a despicable one.

But don't think democrats are any better nowadays. They've conjoined into virtually the same party, where they don't even differ on major economic and social issues. They both seem to go out of their way to protect and perpetrated the corrupt entrenched status quo.

There's only one guy in the Democrat-Republican mindset I'd be willing to vote, and he gets dismissed as nuts or racist.
