How to color someone elses Lineart

For photoshop only. I dont know about any other programs or what versions of photoshop can do it. Here you go though.
First step: Find the file
Second: Duplicate the background layer
Third: Delete the original background layer.
Fourth: Make a plain white or colored background layer
Fifth: Set the lineart layer to multiply
Sixth: Color away, :D

This doesn't really help.

My problem is that when I pick a color it goes to like gray or something so I can't color it at all, only gray, black, and white.

Any idea how to help?

Well then thats something completely different. If your on photoshop- go to the top bar and then click on mode: RGB- and dont flatten it. That should do it.

took a couple times of watching this, and many pauses to figure out how to make it "multiply" but I got it, and I'm glad I found this vid, and that you made it!! ^^ This way works sooo much better than trying to use the magic eracer to get rid of all the white and keep just the line art, that wasn't working out so well for me..
