Apollo 10 was the fourth manned mission in the Apollo programme. The mission included the second crew to orbit the Moon, and the test of the lunar module in lunar orbit. The module came to within 15.6 km of the lunar surface during practice manoeuvers.

The lunar module on Apollo 10 was not equipped to land.

Apollo 10 also added a first — broadcasting live colour TV from space.

  • Amazing images. Apollo project was the greatest engineering project in the history of humanity.

My respect to American engineers and scientists !

  • The crew of Apollo 1 didn't die from burns they were asphyxiated from the smoke

  • because it wasn't a normal fire, it was in pure oxygen, they were made to withstand heat not to be set directly onto a fucking BBQ man, wake up.

  • @MrTestrak Fire burns a LOT hotter than 125 degrees.

  • @Sam13lfc not to be mean but look at apollo 1 tape NASA said their suites were able to withstand heat over 125 degrees then why did they die from earth fire?

  • do i know you? hahahaahaa! your just jealous maybe the neocons are PURE EVIL

  • what I can say to Apollo 10 LM crew ? ALMOST DONE lol :)

  • There is incontrovertible evidence that all the hoax theories have been developed in the bedrooms of 40-something men living with their mothers.

  • There is some confusion here over why the LM ascent stage was short fuelled.

This stage was designed to take off from the moons surface so it had to lift against one sixth earth gravity.

On the 10 mission it was tested in Lunar orbit and separated up to 90 miles from the command module. To close the gap again it simply did not need the fuel and the weight saving meant that other phases of the mission had extra margins to work in.

Remember this was still untried territory back then.

  • american astronauts are heros
