JCCC Linda Gaulding Art & Large-Format Photographer Johnson County Community College

Though Linda Gaulding, JCCC student artist, initially enrolled in the graphics program, she unexpectedly found a new art passion: Large-format black & white (b/w) photography.

During the last three years, Gaulding has printed 400+ varying sizes of b/w prints that emphasize architecture and landscape imagery. Gaulding enthusiastically states, "[I] fell in love with the darkroom! It's pure magic."

Gaulding underwent chemotherapy treatments while simultaneously enrolled in an advanced photography class. With her cancer now in remission, Gaulding reflects that this class "helped me get out of bed and look forward to taking pictures and get my mind off the chemo." "Photography gave me hope and purpose to enjoy life," Gaulding says.
