I wanted to recreate jrmasoh's shot from 1987. The park is still thriving, especially in the summer. A lot of the kids like to come put pennies on the track for the trains to crush. It's the same pleasant atmosphere as it was two decades ago, and I hope it continues to be for a long time. The radio transmissions are the defect detector at Norcross, and the engineer calling the Beaver Dam intermediate signal between Norcross and Carolina.

  • Why can't all K5LA horns sound as beautiful as this one?

  • Agreed. That one sounded nice.

  • Why is the Crescent running it's consist switched around? When I rode it last year, the coaches were at the end of the train. It ran as follows: baggage, Viewliner, Viewliner, Diner, Lounge/Cafe, coaches 1-4

  • Awesome! It actually felt like revisiting Norcross in 1987 because it was such a good job of recreating the look and feel of the original video. I see Amtrak's schedule is the same 22 years later. Try this too often and you might find yourself surrounded by all the kids in the park waiting for Amtrak with you.

  • Nice vid of the Crescent!! Love it, They were blasting through their to.
