For more than 60 years, one of the worlds smallest opera companies has given music lovers an up-close-and-personal view of some classics, while training up-and-coming singers. Anthony Amato and his wife Sally founded the Amato Opera Company in 1948 at Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Greenwich Village. Last weekend, the curtain came down for the last time. But before that, we had a chance to speak with the companys co-founder.
