Performed by Wally Kleucker on the piano, this is the third movement from a suite by composer and organist, Flor Peeters, who was born in Belgium on July 4, 1903. A delightful variation on the tune "Hyfrydol" by R.H. Prichard (1811-1887) with unexpected harmonizations and cadences. Peeters was a master of many styles.
This is lovely........light and delicate.
I am searching for a recording of some of his choral works....Ave Verum, Sanctus and Agnus Dei. I sang it once in my choir and never forgot. It's the music to herald a huge ice berg moving slowly through water. Something indefinably northern about it, and with the most exquisite harmonies. I long to hear it, and sing it, again. Cannot find it anywhere.
Anyone any idea where I could get it.
