It's fake. Just before the crash, the camera zooms in on the dashboard, goes fuzzy, then zooms out again. This is to cover up a cut in the film to make it look like a continuous film.
In this "scene change" a mobile phone has been added to the dash, and the speed on the odemeter is different. The scene change is probably needed to apply make-up to the "ghost".
