  • I look forward to you guys covering ex-governor Palin's 400% tax increase on the state of Alaska's #1 taxpayer (ACES)! And the fact that Palin signed 2 of our state's largest operating budgets ever.

So much for her "low taxes/smaller government" shtick.

  • But that would not benefit large banks, international bankers, so hence you got the bank bail outs which did not bail out small/local banks and credit unions as much as large and regional banks. I think in fact we have these economic crisis really to rid the nation of its many competing banks. So congress could easily empower people through them, increase competition and the 'free market' but do the opposite and empower BoA and Chase instead. Bank bailouts = retard policy the way it was done

  • The alternative for the bank bail outs. That is easy: the Treasury department who has the power to issue money if congress simply reinstates that power to the treasure can directly issue money and the government can easily issue credit directly if it wishes or give "tax refunds" or whatever. In other words, the banks, especially private ones, don't need to be the one doing the credit giving. Also credit unions and local small banks could be issued this treasury credit directly but....

  • That is completely stupid not to try Al Queda in New York since we know full well that the jury pool would clearly seek to exact justice on those who planned it. Thus New York is a perfect place to try the 9/11 hijackers. Searching for an argument to do it. Really, there you go. It is a no-brainer. I know someone will say Al Queda will want revenge or something. They can do that anyways regardless of where the trial is. That is not a good response.

  • I think the people who wanted to attack Iraq were those who supported Israel. In the Gulf War Saddam attacked Israel and I can see a group of policy makers pushing to attack it if nothing else as simple revenge. Sure there might be other reasons, but that is a strong reason and not shared by non-supporters of Israel. Same with Iran. The reason you hear Israel might attack Iran is due to the fact the US might not. Israel wants the US to attack both of those nations and we did one of them.

  • Actually no 9/11 was not really designed to terrorize Americans but rather to cause fundamental disruption to our financial system and as Bush said "a lot of private wealth was lost that day". If someone is terrorized as an effect that is simply a sideeffect. It is like a bank robbery. If someone happens to be there and is terrorized by it, that is a side effect, and if that person now fears going to banks in the future. The goal though was to rob the bank.
