Garden sculpture in the tradition of the American whirligig. As the wind turns the propeller, the Boatman vanes like a weathervane and rows with the breezes. He attaches to a deck rail with a 16 inch pole mount or can be displayed indoors on his pedestal as art. Fog Warning and other whirligigs are handmade by an artist duo. • @sackyiii its just a worm gear turning another gear that is attached to the end of the oars. :-)

  • Looks like I got lost in the endless whirl of Youtube again.

How did I get to whirligigs?

But seriously, that fishermens movement is brilliantly smooth!

  • OH!! Wonderful

  • Very nice. I bet it was a lot of work to put in the much detail. Paint on the ores, arms and hat on the man, etc. Lots of links!

  • how does it warn you that fog is coming

  • @amazingwindmachines Jane, i don't want to build the same thing I want to build a Drift boat with a man rowing it. So I just need the plan for the rowing mechanism. I like building things myself so I just need the plans. I would pay you for them. Steve
