Run- Cloud/Rinoa

[STORY] (Cookies for who ever actually reads it!)
Back Story *not shown*:
Rinoa and Cloud were the perfect couple, he was a first class SOLDIER, and Rinoa was the light of his life. But they were more than just a dating, they were engaged.

Story:
"Is something wrong?" Rinoa asked.
"I dont want you involved." He blurts out
Rinoa now worried asks if he really means that they shouldn't be together, Cloud, taken back by his sudden out burst quickly reassures her that its nothing, but she now knows what he is really thinking. Cloud then tries to explain him self,
"I just-" but is quickly cut off when she calmly tells him to leave. He says that he will come back. Shortly after leaving their apartment he feels something behind him.
Rinoa screams "Behind you!"
But its too late, for Cloud was shot with a paralyzing bullet from behind.
He hears the running foot steps of enemy soldiers and screams for Rinoa to run.
She gasps as the sound of gun shots comes closer; Cloud knows that he is too late. He hears her scream of pain and agony, and feels the world begin to crash around him.
Rinoa, scared and alone in the life stream, runs and runs in search of man she loves.
Back in Gaia, Cloud is filled with pain and regret for not being able to save her. His pain is more than just emotional... While atop the cliff over looking Midgar, he gets a memory lapse of the angel he failed to save, and the memories that will forever haunt him.

4 Years Later
Cloud is dating Tifa. They have been living together for a year now and Tifa is getting tired of Clouds constant grieving of that one girl. She has had enough, "You think youve got it so damn hard!" she yells at him one night.
"You just dont get it at all!" Cloud retorts, furious that she would bring up such a painful subject as that.
"Look at you," she tries to continue.
"Im leaving!" Cloud says for he is still not ready to talk about it.
Cloud goes to the one place where he has always felt closest to the Angel, The Forgotten City. Cloud stops his motorcycle and goes to sit by the river where he tells himself that all he wants is to be forgiven, and wishes with everything he has just to see her again and tell her that he is sorry. But what he doesnt know is that she is there too, right beside him. "Cloud?" He quickly turns around to find himself in the passing between life and death. Although he knows that their reunion will not last forever, but only a couple seconds will be long enough for him. As there reunion comes to an end she adds that she never blamed him for her death and that he needed to forgive himself. With that said the angel departed with the one she loved, she went back to the life stream, and he, was sent back to Gaia.

Cloud wakes up in a daze, but I let you die, how can I be forgiven for a sin such as that? He thought to himself. He looked over and realized that he was back at home, next to Tifa. As he stared at her sleeping, he heard an angels voice, You dont have to hang on any longer. Cloud smiled to himself and knew that what the angel said, was true.

Notes: this isnt my normal type of editing but I decided after my Fearless MEP I kinda developed a soft spot for this couple ^-^ and im sorry if the story was poorly written for I am an editor more than a writer =]
