postsecret

a video i put together of the secrets ive been saving for the past year or so. i got the idea from this weeks postsecret posts that were made into a video on the webiste. it was hard to fit them all in, and i left a ton out because they wouldn't fit. the beginning where it says "its okay, im here" was when frank didn't post secrets that week, and people were just posting their own as comments, and everyone began to console eachother.. and what someone said about it..
after the anxiety departed
after our fear left us
our hearts
stopped racing
and we realized
that there would be no words
from frank
what did we do?
we began to post our own secrets
instead of waiting for
everyone else's
instead of waiting
for frank to give us
the ones
HE wanted to give us
we gave one another our own
our souls
our bits and pieces
we opened up a little
still anonymously
(for the most part)
and gave a bit of our own
the only signature we had
being a time stamp at the bottom

so soon after
we replied to one another
"to 12:54, it's ok.
to 9:40, i am here"
we began to embrace
the loss we had found
(for whatever reason
in no secrets being posted)
as well as the treasure
that occoured
in posting
through comments
our own secrets
a guarantee read
instead of a possible post
from a man behind a screen

for this,
dear frank,
we love you
oddly
no matter what the reason
you have still given us all
a reason for hope
and a hope
for understanding

these types of postsecrets are absolutely incredible. just when you feel alone; you read something like this and realize just how many people surround you that feel the same way. life is absoutely stunning.

I feel like this video was about me... I can relate to sooo many of the secrets that were posted. The one that hit me the hardest and made me burst out into tears was the one that said, "Everytime I cry, regardless of the reason in the beginning, I always end up crying over her death." After that, it was all tears for the rest of the video.

I really needed that. Thank you for making this video.
