Allegro (120 bpm), then Andante (94 bpm). Very Slow (30 bpm) next.

This is Prelude One from Book One of the Well-Tempered Clavier by Bach.
Gounod added a melody, set to the Latin text Ave Maria. Will upload that also for you to compare.

  • This person looks like he or she is malnourished

  • @dw4lubu looks are deceiving :)

  • there is a mistake. you play the wrong chord at 1:37 (a lot of people seem to get this chord wrong)

  • @eq9ugh There is no mistake. But thanks for bringing this subject to our attention.

There is a good reason for "a lot of people [including concert artists] seem to get this chord wrong)." We are playing the most widely accepted edition. Footnote in Schirmer's edition: "The Schwenke manuscript inserts a measure that has become generally accepted":

In classical piano, such discrepancies are not uncommon.

  • i think here is a little mistake in 1:40 .

    the correct keys are : A - C- D(Flat)

  • @MrTsikara there are no D-flats in my score. Eb is correct because Db would sound really weird :)

  • @bbdhrggl BTW excellent job :)

  • is that an angagement ring?

  • love it.. i will learn this..

    thank you

  • @bbdhrggl

I feel that if play Bach 846 only, no need this part, but if play for Ave Maria, you need add this part, otherwise, it will not match Gounod’s song. I thought this part was added just for Ave Maria.

  • @MrTsikara schooled :P

  • that is so beautiful i love it !
