The video title is a a satire of Thunderf00t's over-simplistic and generalizing first like 'this is your brain on rationality' and the later line 'this is your brain on religion', within his video 'Girl prays to cause earthquakes' to which this video is a response to.

The pseudo-rationalistic nature of mainstream atheism is clearly visible when I have to bother debunking crap like this...

For those of you who think my arguments are invalid because nutjob religious leaders have followers, may I remind you that crackpots and wierdos of all backgrounds had their cult followings. Even here on YouTube, atheists such as Calpurnpiso -- a penis-obsessed pseudo-intellectual who thinks that the Romans never used Crucifixion as a form of Capital punishment, that Julius Caesar and Jesus were the same person, that the Catholic Church is responsible for the BP oil spill, that Michael Jackson would never have died if he had an atheist physician, that Christian scientists and physicians should have their Ph.D.'s & M.D.'s revoked, and other such nonsense -- is endlessly praised by his 1500 subscribers for his alleged wisdom, intellect, and command of arts, history, & science. I even thought he was a Poe until I investigated further. Globally, atheist regimes throughout the world hell-bent on eradicating religion and establishing godless utopias were enabled through their popular following. I wonder how many people would accuse Pol Pot and Enver Hoxha of trolling if they were simply online atheists shouting rhetoric into cameras instead of being the brutal political tyrants that they were....

  • @UNFFwildcard to be honest.....why even make a video like she did....

hell.....i thought she was legit......(great acting)

but cant you see its sad that this is what we expect of religious people.....

  • @azmanabdula

Why is it then that I was able to see that she was a troll, and you didn't?

Yes, I know it is sad that this is what you expect, but I'm also showing you what's constantly at the forefront of our mainstream media and perception of things. If what I expect of atheists was based on what I've been taught to believe about atheists from this exact same manstream, I would not even bother trying to engage you. I expect better because I know better, and so should you.

  • @UNFFwildcard I wasn't a big fan of Thunderf00t's video either, but I don't think you're addressing his actual point, that fake or not, the video reflects the actual worldviews of many people, including many supposed moral leaders in theistic communities. He "couldn't tell the difference" because the real thing so often looks so similar, and he went on to back this up by showing Falwell and Robertson saying almost identical things in the wake of 9/11. Apply this to their case: Which Jack is it?

  • @MattRosenDP

If he wanted to address the world view of Christians whom he disagreed with, why did he go through the trouble of using someone whom he already thought was a troll, and then make the argument that I refuted in the first place? He should have just criticized Falwell and Robertson directly.

  • @UNFFwildcard There is no scientific evidence for god. There are no arguments for god that have any logical merit insofar as they pertain to the god of the bible. The bible itself is historically erroneous, morally inadequate, philosophically mundane, scientifically inept and is infelicitously written. The theological acrobatics required to justify this literary rubbish is pathetic. There could be a god, but it isn't your iniquitous and deranged demon god. TF can be a fool, but you are hollow.

  • @tessellation

...where did this comment come from?

  • First, so what if her insipiration was religion?

Second, no, it was not simple posturing, he did mean that literally. And, if he didn't, such 'posturing' is unfit for a career scientist who should be unambiguous in expressing ideas.

Third, there was a bandwagon that I already joined against thunderf00t a long time ago, though I prefer to call it 'critical thinking and skeptical analysis'

Forth, every time I make a video against thunderf00t, I lose subscribers. Thank you for showing that.

  • @jimmo42 No problem. The idea is just frustrating, Tf00t makes really good science video's. But is terrible when it comes to philosophy imho. I mean he could be right and he still wouldn't know why.

  • Grow up kid, your imaginary sky wizards don't really exist. Religion has had far too much respect for far too long. Maybe in time the self deception of religion will leave you and you'll come to understand what secular humanists are trying to do. You seen like an intelligent person but sadly the right connections in your brain haven't come together yet.

  • This also reminds me of Poe's Law. It's when it's hard to tell if someone/thing is just satire or being serious.

  • americans are addicted to stupid, think about jackass, homer simpson, peter griffin

stupid is a cool thing in america

ive asked people before who, what is the secretary of state

i actualy got a few that thought it was the person who takes the governors phone calls

    this is a big problem

  • Your Jack Nicholson analogy is flawed. Snowed in cabin-dwellers are not trying to legislate their craziness, religious fundamentalists are. The reason a good actor can fool people is because the actions they are preforming match the reality that they are portraying. When absurd parody so closely resembles the genuine article it betrays the absurdity of the genuine article, not the other way around.

  • No, it doesn't demonstrate anything about religion. However, it does show how many shit people had to take from religion and how little sense for irony people have. I mean, I today still find it hard to believe there are creationists in this world.

If Pamela's parody was the worst religious mind I ever saw I would agree you have a valid point.

  • Yes, EVERYBODY got trolled by this girl and it is part @Thunderf00t fault for not making a little background research, but let's not forget about her inspiration...if you search for videos of the Japan earthquake/tsunami and read the comment section you will most likely find tens, if not hundreds of people that said something similar to what she said. So the argument still stands...religion will make people crazy.

  • Atheism is the new prejudice, and like past prejudice, most of them are just idiots and the larger they grow to more people will see how stupid they are.
