MLB fans everywhere were indeed blessed because Ernie Harwell touched our lives for so many years. I once told Ernie a buddy's idea of Heaven was "a sloop anchored in a Lake Michigan cove, a model in a black string bikini reclining on its desk, a big cooler of Stroh's on ice and Ernie Harwell heard on a nearby radio broadcasting a Tigers game" Ernie loved that!!!!!

can someone post the inning he did on fox during the 06 ALDS?

I'll always remember the voice of Ernie Harwell.
back in the 1960s my brother and i used to huddle around my 9 volt transistor radio at night to listen to the Tiger ball games on WJR. We could barely here the radio station since Detroit was about 80 miles away, it would fade in and out.
I can hear Ernie now, "its a full count,.... he winds and delivers,.... its a swing and a miss!....he struck him out".
You will always be loved Ernie Harwell, rest in peace.

this video gets me every time. I grew up in the 90s listening to almost every game on the radio. I am so fortunate to have been able to enjoy my favorite sport with one of the best radio announcers of all-time. He truly meant the world to all Detroit Tigers fans and those who follow baseball. Baseball will never be the same as he called it. RIP Ernie. Thank you for everything.
You will be greatly missed Ernie. You are a special one among the legends.
i can remember the "Mickey Lolich" World Series Champions of 1968 and that really great "unbeatable" Detroit World Champions team of 1984. i am a DIE HARD CUBS FAN and baseball itself is greater than any of our teams. we are baseball fans first,Ernie knew this. You will always be missed and never forgotten,Ernie, even when You are "long gone".

Ernie Harwell, you will always be remembered as a true legend, and as a true "voice" of the Detroit Tigers. May heaven smile upon you and may rest in peace. You are always a real true friend to all of us.
